Sound dampening should be your
last step when creating a quiet PC. Ironically, sound dampening is easiest to
install before you install any other components. Acoustic sound absorption mats
will help eliminate noise by absorbing sound waves. These mats can also slightly
reduce the any resonating and vibrating on your chassis panels. These mats only
provide a noticeable effect when your case is already fairly quiet. The mats
will have little noticeable effects on loud systems. Other anti-vibration kits
include fan and power supply silencers.
